Avalara acquires Oobj Tecnologia da Informação Ltda.

Durham, N.C. — December 10, 2024 — Avalara, Inc., a leading provider of tax compliance automation software for businesses of all sizes, today announced the acquisition of Oobj Tecnologia da Informação Ltda (Oobj), an e-invoicing software provider based in Brazil.

Avalara will leverage Oobj’s e-invoicing expertise to complement its global e-invoicing solution’s endpoints in Brazil and secure e-invoicing endpoints in six additional Latin American countries: Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Costa Rica.

“Avalara’s audacious goal remains to become part of every transaction in the world,” said Jayme Fishman, Chief Strategy and Product Officer at Avalara. “We’re enthusiastic about the prospects of adding value and easing compliance for both Avalara and Oobj customers with industry-leading e-invoicing solutions and continuing to strengthen our position as a global leader in the space.”

With the acquisition of Oobj, Avalara will have endpoint connectivity for Brazil e-invoicing that will be integrated into its Avalara E-Invoicing and Live Reporting (ELR) solution, providing e-invoicing partners and customers with access to Brazil through a single global API.

The Oobj business will both continue as a standalone product and explore new paths as part of Avalara’s global e-invoicing offerings that provide customers with industry leading solutions.
